The Transylvania Film Festival marks a decade of spotlighting the best in Romanian and international indie film as it kicks off today, hosting Jacqueline Bisset and Michael York in the mountain town of Cluj-Napoca.
Presented by Romanian Film Promotion, fest has built a rep as one of the more varied and engaging international sprocket operas in Eastern Europe, highlighted by such events as this year’s 3D screening of Wim Wenders’ dance docu “Pina” and Werner Herzog’s “Cave of Forgotten Dreams.”
Twelve pics, all first and second features, compete for the main prize, while award winners from other fests screen in the Supernova section.
The fest wraps in Cluj-Napoca on June 12, and unspools in the neighboring town of Sibiu June 15-19.
