Romania’s core bourse BSE pushes the throttle pedal at closing bell, the power sector climbs 3.50%

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) soared significantly this session, after massive declines reported at the end of last week, and the index of the power sector hiked 3.50 percent, underpinned by the advance of Rompetrol shares. Liquidity amounted to 34.18 million lei on closing.Shares of SIF Oltenia (SIF5) were the most liquid on the market and hiked 2.63 percent to 1.17 lei, while those of SIF Moldova (SIF2) advanced 2.88 percent to 1.07 lei. SIF Transilvania (SIF3) increased 0.74 percent to 0.68 lei and SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) idled at 1.10 lei.

Romania’s second bank by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) added 1.74 percent to 11.70 lei, while the Austrian lender Erste Bank (EBS) inched 0.25 percent to 118.80 lei.

Oil refinery Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC) boosted 8.77 percent to 0.0583 lei, next to Rompetrol Well Services (PTR) which jumped 7.41 percent to 0.377 lei.
