The Transilvanian International Film Festival (TIFF), organized by the Association for Promoting Romanian Films, will take place starting 3rd of June 2011 and will end on 12 of June. This year TIFF is on it’s 10th edition and the organizers have officially announced the possibility to entering online in one of the following competitions: Shadows – short films and Romanian Film Days – shorts and long films.The official TIFF competition is reserved for directors that are at their first or second movie in their carrier. This leads to a representative selection of the new wave of international film. Shadows section – SHORTS is dedicated to the fans of horror, thriller, bizarre or SF short. tiff trailerShadows Section – Trailer. This video that was made last year talks for itself – drama, violence, crime – 20 minutes movies that represent a provocative cinema.
Romanian Film Days – this is a section which is dedicated to Romanian movies made in 2010-2011 and some Romanian film retrospectives.
All the movies that want to participate in TIFFs’ competitions must be made after the 1st of January 2009. The deadline for sending the DVDs for The Official Competition and Shadow – short movies is 15th of February 2011 and the deadline for Romanian Film Days is 15th of March 2011. The envelopes must be sent through mail on the Association for Promoting Romanian Films address having also written in which section they want to participate.
Last years festival edition took down record after record offering the audience 240 productions coming from 47 different countries and having an astonishing number of 800 guests.
