Romanian side CFR Cluj have released Gabriel Tamas a week after signing the former West Brom defender.
Various press stories have cast clouds over the 29-year-old’s short stay at Cluj, in which he failed to make a single appearance.
Club president Iuliu Muresan revealed that Cluj took the decision to release Tamas so soon after welcoming him due to unprofessional behaviour, claiming the centre-back to have spent most of his time drinking.
It comes after Tamas was filmed drunken in a bar in Bucharest and was reported to have broken down a door to a building.
Muresan told the club’s official website, “Some things that happened these days got in the press, some didn’t. A lot of things happened.”
“We can’t continue. Veni, vidi, vici (translating to “I came, I drank, I left”) for Tamas.”
