Bayern Munich have long been linked with a number of strikers, but for the first time their interest has been confirmed.According to Pro Sport, Cluj president Iuliu Muresan has revealed that the Bavarians have made an inquiry as to the availability of 20-year-old forward Lacina Traore.
“[Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz] Rummenigge sent me his respect and confirmed to me that Bayern were monitoring three players in Romania,” Muresan said. “There are two players for whom they will pay good money. One is Lacina Traore. This does not mean Bayern will get him easily.”
At 2.03 metres, Traore is a formidable aerial opponent. Although Bayern won both of their recent Champions League matches with Cluj, the Ivorian looked very dangerous on occasion. Should they sign him, Bayern will have to fend off competition from a number of top clubs, including Arsenal.
