Rubin Kazan have signed a deal to loan out promising youngsters to gain experience at Romanian champions CFR Cluj, Rubin vice-president Kamil Iskhakov said Tuesday. Manager Kurban Berdyev agreed the deal with Cluj officials while Rubin were on a winter training camp in Spain.
“We’ve agreed with the CFR president [Iuliu Muresan] that they will take several of our young players on loan, educate them and return them to us,” Iskhakov said on his club’s website.
The Rubin vice-president was full of praise for Cluj’s business model.
“They find promising young players on the market, teach them and instill them with the spirit of champions, and then sell them for significant sums. Moreover, the club plays in the Champions League, where they recently beat Manchester United.”
Both teams will be in action in the Europa League on Thursday, when Rubin travel to Atletico Madrid and Cluj visit Inter Milan.
