Alvaro Pereira claims he is „very attached” to FC Porto amid reported interest from Serie A duo Inter Milan and Napoli.The 27-year-old wing-back has enjoyed a successful stint at the Estadio do Dragao since his arrival from CFR Cluj in July 2009, winning two domestic league and cup titles, as well as the Europa League crown.
Chelsea expressed their interest in Pereira a year ago, but saw their approach knocked back by the Portuguese giants as the Uruguay international went on to sign a contract extension to keep him in Porto until 2016.
He has now emerged as a potential target for both the Nerazzurri and Partenopei, but insists his focus remains with the Primeira Liga champions and has dismissed talk regarding his future as „just rumours”.
„I’m a Porto player and I’m not talking about my future,” Pereira said after his country’s 0-0 draw with France on Wednesday.
„There are a lot of rumours, but I’m just thinking about training hard for a club which I am very attached to.
„I’m just focused on Porto. I have a number of international colleagues who play in Italy, and I watch the championship when I can, but all I am hearing are just rumours.”
