Pharma producer Terapia Ranbaxy will invest 38 million Euro in a new production facility for drugs against cancer, HIV/AIDS and cardiovascular diseases in Apahida, Cluj county by 2013. Over six hectares, the plant aims to start production in 2014 and is expected to increase the company’s production capacity by over 50 per cent by the end of 2015.The firm will target the products to the Romanian market, EU, middle and near east. Terapia Ranbaxy increased its domestic sales by 20 per cent in 2010 compared to 2009 to 83 million Euro and doubled the value of its exports from its existing Cluj-based factory to 15 million Euro. In 2008, Japan’s Daiichi Sankyo bought a 50.1 per cent stake in India’s Ranbaxy Group, the owner of Terapia.
