British companies open doors to Romanian workers as English ‘is not necessary’

As Britain prepares to open its borders in January, weekly job fairs in the capital Bucharest are seeking migrants to fill posts as NHS midwives and in the catering industry. Several websites have sprung up advertising low-skilled jobs in the UK and boasting that English is “not necessary”. An unnamed NHS Trust based in the north of England is advertising midwife jobs through Active Business Consult in Cluj-Napoca, in the former Transylvania region.
