Born in 1981 in Israel, Noam Zur the Principal Resident Conductor at the Aalto Theater, Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra of Essen, Germany (2008-2010). He was chosen in 2006 by Maître Pierre Boulez as his assistant as well as consultant & conductor for the Lucerne Festival Academy (2006-2008). According to Slovak State Radio, In 2009-2010 he will give his Italian, Czech, and Slovakian debut performances with „I Pomeriggi Musicali” in Teatro Dal Verme, Milano, the Bratislava Radio Orchestra, and the Northern Czech Philharmonic, respectively. Furthermore, Zur will return to the Transilvanian State Philharmonic in Cluj as well as the Jerusalem Radio Symphony Orchestra.In addition to regularly appearing in Essen with operas by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Wagner, Borodin, Henze, Bizet, and other composers, he is a regular guest on International European and South African concert stages, as well as in his native Israel. As a guest conductor he has appeared with orchestras such as the Israel Chamber Orchestra, Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, Germany, the Filarmonia Transilvania, Cluj, the Johannesburg Philharmonic, Bochumer Symphoniker, and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. During 2005-2007, Noam Zur was Principal Resident Conductor and Deputy Music Director of the Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra of Heidelberg, Germany. Mr. Noam Zur has been a member of the Dirigentenforum des Deutschen Musikrat since 2003.
