Romanian President Klaus Iohannis would prefer a Liberal Government, led by former Justice Minister Catalin Predoiu. The president himself is a Liberal, and run the National Liberal Party for a short period before becoming the head of state, according to Romania-Insider.com.Iohannis expressed his preference for cabinet after saying the relationship with the current Government led by Social Democrat Victor Ponta, was a ‘normal, institutional one’, according to Mediafax.
“This Government was here when I became President, I haven’t chosen them, nor rejected them. Institutionally, this is not the President’s job, but I don’t see how I can implement my 10-year vision for Romania with this Government,” said Iohannis at local TV station Realitatea TV.
“I want a National Liberal Party (PNL) Government, but we have to see how, what the best solution is and what is possible,” he said. In Romania, the President can’t change the Government.
