The Bosch factory in the central Romanian county of Cluj will open on May 9, the company announced. The opening of the new production facility in Romania is tied in with Europe’s Day. In a first stage, Bosch invested EUR 77 million in a new research and production centre in Cluj covering nearly 38,000 sqm, according to TheDiplomat.ro.The Bosch team that took part in the construction of the Cluj factory was made up of employees from Romania (Bucharest and Cluj), Germany ( the Bosch factory at Ansbach), France (the Bosch production facility at Mondville) and Hungary (the Bosch Centre at Hatvan).
The company says by early 2014, as many as 325 employees worked at the production and research departments of the centre. In the following years, the location will be expanded, with Bosch decided to continue recruiting.
Organisationally speaking, the new centre will be part of the Bosch Automotive Electronics Division, a developer and producer of electronic command devise, semiconductors and sensors for the automotive industry and other fields.
