Liverpool consider bid for Arsenal, Fulham and Newcastle target Lacina Traore

Roy Hodgson is keen on landing a striker during the January transfer window and has set his sights on the FC Cluj player.

Liverpool are widely believed to be in the market for a striker this month, and manager Roy Hodgson is said to be looking at towering forward Lacina Traore as the man to partner Fernando Torres in the Reds’ attack.

While Ajax’s Luis Suarez and Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge have also been earmarked as possible candidates for an Anfield move, Traore could be available for less than Cluj’s €5m valuation after falling out with his own fans in Romania for repeatedly expressing a desire to leave the club.

While the Ivorian’s talent and physical presence cannot be doubted, he has come under fire recently for a string of disciplinary problems.

Still, he has been in lethal form to score nine goals in 19 league matches so far this term.

The striker was linked with Arsenal during the summer and more recently with Fulham and Newcastle.
