Cluj – Turda section (centre-west) of Transylvania motorway (Brasov, center – Bors, west) will open to traffic on December 1, said on Friday Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Radu Berceanu, on the occasion of a visit to the motorway’s shipyard together with PM Emil Boc. ‘The section might open to traffic starting December 1. The payments to the constructor have been made,’ said Berceanu.The construction works on the Turda-Gilau section have entered the last stage, of finalization of the structure and road blocks. About 30 km have so far been carried out, the remainder of 12 being under various stages of execution. Transylvania motorway between the localities of Brasov and Bors will have 415 km. and a 26-metre-wide platform. Over 55 km. of the overall length are forecast for bridges and viaducts. The project is divided into eight sections.
