Cluj-Napoca Airport’s capacity growth driven by Wizz Air expansion; London set to overtake Bucharest as #1 route

On 11 August, Wizz Air celebrated five million passengers at Cluj-Napoca (also known as Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport ‒ named in honour of the revolutionary Transylvanian lawyer), since it started serving the airport in 2007. The lucky passenger was Romanian native Eugenia Rus, who was travelling to Milan/Bergamo. The airport is expected to handle around 1.5 million passengers in 2015, according to anna.aero.

Gorghiu: Nu sunt aşa de sigură că Boc va fi candidatul PNL la Primăria Cluj

Liderul PNL Alina Gorghiu a declarat, marţi la B1 TV, că nu este atât de sigură că Emil Boc va fi candidatul PNL la Primăria Cluj pentru că nu ar vrea să reînvie sensibilităţile lui Boc odată cu înscrierea lui Traian Băsescu în PMP. Totodată, Gorghiu a preiczat că ar vrea să ştie dacă Boc va fi trup şi suflet cu partidul, în condițiile în care a fost întrebată dacă Emil Boc va mai candida din partea PNL la Primăria Clujului.

FNE”s Cinema of the Month: Cinema Arta, Cluj-Napoca

This month we speak to Monica Sebestyen, the owner and manager of Cinema Arta, one of the main venues of Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF). Cinema Arta was built and opened by David Sebesteyn, Monica’s great-grandfather, in 1913. The Sebesteyn family lost the cinema during communism and it was returned to them after 1989. At the present time the cinema is opened only for festivals and special events as its manager seeks additional funding in order to open it as a regular cinema, says FilmNewEurope.com.
