UPC offers download speeds of 120Mbps to 13 cities

Cableco UPC Romania has announced that residential customers in 13 cities across the country now have access to transmission speeds of 120Mbps. Cities included in UPC’s upgrade are: Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Deva, Arges, Focsani and Ploiesti; (all of which were previously eligible for download speeds of 100Mbps) and Bucharest, Constanta, Iasi, Braila, Galati, Roman and Buzau. The increased download speeds have been enabled by UPC’s introduction of the EuroDOCSIS 3.0 standard. The 120Mbps broadband package is priced at RON50 (USD17.2) per month, with alternative broadband connections priced as follows: 10Mbps (RON15), 20Mbps (RON25) and 60Mbps (RON40). UPC has also confirmed the launch of two new triple-play packages, named ‘Gallant’ and ‘Conqueror’. Both packages comprise broadband internet, cable television and voice telephony. Premium bundle Conqueror includes 113 TV channels and 20Mbps broadband, at a cost of RON70.
