Two Colombian dramas including La Bruja (aka The Witch) have been acquired by Romania’s Transilvania Look Channel, following a deal with Caracol TV International.Transilvania Look has picked up La Bruja (29×60′), which will be known locally as Vrajitoarea. It tells the story of a mysterious woman who was attracted to witchcraft as a child and later becomes the president’s highest advisor. It will air on the Romanian net’s 16.00 afternoon slot Mondays to Fridays from September 28.
The network has also picked up Infiltrados (aka Infiltrated, 37×60′), and will air it under the title Sub Acoperire. The suspense thriller follows a police unit whose officers also face personal issues. Sub Acoperire began airing this week in the 22.00 slot Mondays to Fridays.
Caracol TV International will be heading to Mipcom in Cannes next month with a slate of five new series to sell to the international market.
They include scripted dramas Pablo Escobar: El Patrón Del Mar, about one of Colombia’s most infamous criminals; and Cinco Viudas Sueltas, which tells the story of five women with different lives but who have one thing in common – visiting their husbands and boyfriends in jail every Sunday.
Fictional drama Made in Cartagena is about the life of a young ballerina who is deceived by her uncle in the search for lost treasure; Divino Niño presents everyday stories about people who turn to their faith to overcome difficult situations in their lives; and Do Re Millones is a one-hour musical entertainment show in which contestants compete to win prizes.
