Shares of Banca Transilvania push the BET index up 2.53% on BSE at closing bell

The BET index on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) closed session with a 2.53 percent advance, underpinned by a spectacular increase of Banca Transilvania shares, which reached a new annual peak, while the five SIFs soared an average 2.6 percent, in line with the external markets.Deals totaled 17.55 million lei at closing bell.

The BET index reflecting the evolution of the ten best companies on the market rose 2.53 percent to 4,587.91 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares minus financial companies climbed 2.02 percent to 2,661.46.

The BET-FI index of the five SIFs added 2.61 percent to 20,555.38 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna grew 3.52 percent to 9,776.34.

The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid companies gained 2.78 percent to 435.38 and the BET-NG index showing the evolution of the power market inched 0.62 percent to 582.22.

Romania’s fifth lender by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) boosted 6.38 percent to 2 lei, while the second bank by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) jumped 3.17 percent to 13 lei. Austrian lender Erste Bank (EBS) hiked 5.46 percent to 131.40 lei.

SIF Transilvania (SIF3) soared 1.72 percent to 0.59 lei and SIF Oltenia (SIF5) swelled 3.85 percent to 1.08 lei. SIF Moldova (SIF2) added 3.28 percent to 0.945 lei.

The country’s largest oil company Petrom (SNP) increased 1.63 percent to 0.25 lei and Transgaz Medias (TGN) won 0.2 percent to 149.7 lei.
