Roma Goalkeeper Julio Sergio Sidelined Until 2011 With Muscle Injury

Roma goalkeeper Julio Sergio is likely out of action for the rest of the calendar year after suffering an injury in midweek, according to AnsaThe Brazilian shot stopper suffered a first degree injury to the adductor muscle of his right thigh in the warm up for the Champions League clash against CFR Cluj that ended 1-1 in Romania.

The Giallorossi are holding out slim hopes he could return for the December 18th clash with Milan, but it’s more probable he will have to wait until January to see any more action on the pitch.

The 32-year-old has played in 14 matches in all competitions for the Lupi this season and is rated at 291 in the Castrol Rankings, remaining around that region for the past several months after becoming coach Claudio Ranieri’s first-choice between the posts last season.
