Over 260,000 Romanian tourists spent their holidays in Austria, in 2011 and the number of tourists is expected to go up 5 percent, during the winter of 2011-2012, compared to the figures recorded in the previous season, Austrian Incoming manager Hans Wallner told a news conference on Thursday.
As many as 851,000 tourists came to Austria in 2011, and 261,000 of them were Romanians,’ said Wallner.Austrian Incoming is based in Cluj Napoca and it was set up by DMMA (Destination Monitoring Austria) as an exclusive representation office in Romania. It covers nine tourism areas and its target is to promote the tourism units of its members.
