Two new signings could be plying their trade for les Merlus when they meet PSG on Saturday, with the Breton side making a couple of big strides on the transfer market on Monday evening.Ligue 1 side Lorient pulled off a deadline day double coup by successfully completing the signing of Gregory Bourillon from Paris Saint-Germain and Sebastian Dubarbier from Romanian outfit Cluj, according to the club’s official website.
Les Merlus’ interest in Bourillon had been established for several days, though reports earlier on Monday suggested that there were potential hiccups in the deal. Late in the evening, Bourillon penned a four-and-a-half year deal with the Breton club after struggling to make an impression in PSG’s first team under Antoine Kombouare.
Brought up with Stade Rennais, the 25-year-old first made an impression in the first team of les Rouge et Noir in 2002-03 and was considered to have a bright future ahead of him. His move to Paris never really worked out, with his game time limited throughout a two-and-a-half year stay in the French capital.
Bourillon may debut against his former employers on Saturday and could be joined by Argentine attacker Dubarbier, who can play either in midfield or in attack. The 23-year-old joins after a successful time with Cluj, with whom he claimed the Romanian title in 2008, helping the side’s unlikely charge to the Champions League group stages, in which they would ultimately finish bottom of their pool, lagging behind French champions Girondins de Bordeaux amongst others.
