Israeli club snap up Nigerian forward on three-year deal

Hapoel Be’er Sheva have been pleased with the performance of Anthony Nwakaeme for Hapoel Ra’anana since he arrived in Israel from Romanian club Universitatea Cluj in 2013, according to news24.com.ng.The Camels had attempted to sign the attacker in the summer of 2014 and during the January transfer window but the transfer hit a snag.

After weeks of negotiations, Hapoel Be’er Sheva have announced that Tony Nwakaeme has signed a three – year deal, with the club having an option to extend his stay for a further season on expiration of the initial agreement.

In 2010, Nwakaeme was snapped up by Universitatea Cluj but was immediately loaned out to Arie Turda to gain competitive experience.

He returned to Cluj in January 2011 and remained there for one and half seasons before joining Petrolul Ploieti. He then rejoined Universitatea Cluj before transferring to Israel.

In his two – year stint with Hapoel Ra’anana, the 25 year-old scored 13 goals in 55 matches.

Anthony Nwakaeme did not train with his new teammates at Hapoel Be’er Sheva on Thursday morning as Hapoel Ra’anana are yet to authorize his move.
