The Romanian Government has adopted a decision expressing its approval regarding the organization of the occupational classification in Romania.Fortune tellers, attendants and valets have been included in the new structure, according to Mediafax. The Government’s decision is applicable as of January 1, 2011.
The decision regarding the structure of the Romanian occupational classification includes the “astrologers, fortune tellers and alike” category, together with “attendants and valets”, “funeral furnishers agents and embalmers”. The same section includes the driving instructors.
The new occupational structure also admits the bookmakers, household administrators, street vendors, models, product presenters and providers of on-the-spot services for the population.
The Romanian occupational classification is mandatory for the public administration and is applied in all fields of activity.
The term fortune teller is explained by the Romanian explanatory dictionary as “a person whose occupation is telling somebody’s future by cards, coffee and palm reading”.
