Around 450 students of Babes-Bolyai University (UBB) in Cluj-Napoca have completed their internship courses of three weeks in 94 companies and organizations, following the European financed project Pract-IT, developed by Cluj IT Cluster and UBB, according to thediplomat.ro.The project started in the summer of 2014 and implied over 490,000 Euro. The project addressed to students specializing in IT (188 students), economy informatics (87 students), accounting informatics (77 students), marketing (29 students), economy and international affairs (21 students), statistics (16 students), mathematics and economy (24 students) and so on. Also, the companies and organizations that organizing practicing and courses for them are members of Cluj IT Cluster, such as: Accesa IT Consulting, Altom Consulting, Alfa Software, ArtSoft Consult, ARXIA, Cloud Troopers, FORTECH, Imprezzio Global, ISDC, LightSoft, NetBrinel, OptimaGroup, PitechApps, Recognos and TecknoWorks. Around 573 students enrolled within this project and 450 studnets have been selected to participate to all the training activities. Each students benefited from 1.144 lei subsidy, out of which 1044 lei have been offered by UBB and 100 have been sponsored by Cluj IT Cluster.
Cluj IT is a cluster association aiming to enhance the innovation capabilities and competitiveness of the Romanian IT sector. Cluj IT is a bottom-up, aligned, functional cluster association of organisations active in the information technology field, which includes software developers and solution providers, academic institutions, public bodies and other catalyst organisations. The cluster is made up of 32 companies, three regional univesities, and eight partner organisations (including the Regional Development Agency, the city hall of Cluj-Napoca and county-level institutions in Cluj, as well as Steinbeis Europa-Zentrum in Stuttgart)
