Romanian table toppers CFR Cluj have appointed Italian coach Andrea Mandorlini as the new man in charge only days after the departure of Antonio Conceicao. The Portuguese coach recently got the sack following Cluj’s disappointing performances in the Europa League. Three defeats in a row have left them bottom of Group K. Conceicao was installed in April and aided victories in the Romanian Cup and Romanian Super Cup

Traian Basescu aims to continue state reform together with PM Emil Boc
Candidate of the Democrat-Liberal Party (PD-L) Traian Basescu on Saturday participated in an electoral meeting held in Lucian Blaga Square of Cluj-Napoca. Traian Basescu told his supporters that he would continue the reform of the state together with PM Emil Boc if he became president for a new term-in-office. He thanked Emil Boc for the extended support. Traian Basescu participated in Cluj in the first debate organised at the beginning of the electoral campaign with liberal counter candidate Crin Antonescu.

Romanian league leaders CFR Cluj have announced the departure of manager Antonio Conceicao, less than six months after signing the Portuguese to a two-year contract. The 47-year old, commonly known as Tony, was hired by the 2008 champions in April, and quickly guided the Transylvanian club to the Romanian cup, after which he was handed a contract extension until 2011.
