Romanian company Arobs Transilvania Software, a provider of software which sells various electronic devices under its own brand Smailo, estimates it may sell up to 12,500 PC tablets under its own brand in 2013, writes local paper Ziarul Financiar citing the company’s marketing director Camelia Iusan-Cocis. The company has just released two tablets under its Smailo brand, namely Smailo Web Energy 8 and Smailo Web Energy 9.7, which are powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and have 8-inch and 9.7-inch touchscreens. The first costs RON 649, while the second is offered at RON 899 in Arobs’ partner stores.In June, the company announced it became a distributor of Android-powered Archos tablets in Romania. More specifically, it said it will make available through its partners four models of tablets from the Archos Titanium and Gen 10 XS ranges, namely Titanium 80, Titanium 101, Gen 101 XS and GamePad. These tablets, all powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, are certified by Google and are available in Arobs’ distributors network at prices starting from RON 799.
Various local companies are selling tablets under their own brands in Romania, of which the most known are Visual Fan (Allview), Televoice (Evolio), and Rosal Import Export (E-Boda).
