Americans build vacation village in Apuseni Mountains

A group of 25 American investors from the states of Georgia, Ohio and North Carolina are building a vacation village called New Vista in the mountain community of Pietroasa (Bihor county, Apuseni Mountains). This is designed as a tourist attraction and treatment site covering several hundreds of hectares.According to president of the B ihor County Council Radu Tarle, other Americans arrived on January 14 with plans to develop their business in Bihor around this project.
The American businesspeople invested so far 6.5 million dollars and bought in recent years large land plots in the area of the Pietroasa-Aleului Valley that stretches at the foot of the mountains, on the banks of the Crisul Pietros river, planning to erect here a vacation village “a little different of what we know.”

Besides a few hostels and rustic vacation houses, special services are also on offer, even one¬of-a-kind treatments that cannot be found in other resorts. Demands come in from the US for “wild” tourism in areas still untainted by mass tourism and this area has plenty natural beauties to provide. Last year the Americans opened a sports field equipped with night lighting, and a top-modern trout breeding farm.

“North Carolina lives exclusively on tourism and we know that tourism can be developed to the extent that it becomes an industry capable of generating progress, of course, with the preservation of the natural environment,” the Bihor County Council president on Thursday told a press conference.
American investors also started business in the Cluj County (center-west) that will accommodate greenhouses for the production of organic vegetables to be then exported to the USA.
