Art professor from Cluj buys home in Oak Park

Rozalinda Borcila and Justin Smith bought a 1.5-bath home at 609 Wesley Ave. in Oak Park from Kenneth Glucksberg and Melinda Degucz for $400,000 on March 9.
The 1,399-square-foot home was built in 1913 in the Southeast Central Oak Park neighborhood.

Borcila has been a faculty member with the Geneva University of Art and Design. She has also worked with the University of South Florida College of Visual and Performing Arts, Central Michigan University and Michigan State University.

A native of Romania, she studied computer science at the Cluj University Polytechnic Institute. She received her B.A. from Monmouth College and her M.F.A. from Michigan State University.

Glucksberg is head of the carpentry department at Chicago Scenic Studios.

Degucz is the president of Collective Vision Inc. She previously served as a stage manager at Jack Morton.

She has a B.F.A. in theater from Ohio University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 620 home sales in Oak Park during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $302,000.
