Over 10.000 Visitors at Transilvania Fest 2013

Over 10.000 visitors attended the 2013 edition of Transilvania Fest, an itinerant cultural and food festival, taking place last weekend in Cluj-Napoca. The list of the most succesful produce in this years’ traditional fair hosted by Transilvania Fest, comprises cheese and smoked meat, homemade sweets, garden vegetables, honey, cold pressed oil with herbs and condiments, organic jams and local plum brandy. Moreover, at customers’ demand, new supplies of products were made available.

Transilvania Fest is an itinerant festival organized by Transilvania Fest Association, in partnership with Cluj County Council, through the “Produs de Cluj” Association and the Cluj Centre for the Preservation of Traditional Culture, and the Cluj-Napoca Municipality.

The approximately 150 producers and craftsmen who attended the festival came from different Transilvanian counties, such as Cluj, Sibiu, Hunedoara, Maramureş, Sălaj, Mureş, Braşov, Harghita and Bihor.

The 2013 edition of the festival reunited foreign journalists and partners from Oxford Brookes University (Oxford School of Hospitality Management), who presented cookery demonstrations in the Unirii Square, the landmark of the event. Well-known London chéf Paul Bloomfield was present, adding an original touch to the menues of the events dedicated to the special guests of the festival. Local chéf Adrian Hădean also joined Transilvania Fest, with a contemporary Romanian cuisine dinner.
